A little bit about Gianni Versace
Versace fashion is seen as a pioneer in global design
Born in 1946 at Reggio, Calabria, Southern Italy, Gianni Versace was strongly influenced, fashion-wise, by his mother. Originally anarchitect, he followed his mother’s footsteps in the fashion trade and worked for many of Italy’s fashion houses. In 1978, he began his own label withis brother Santo assisting him.

Versace combined high style and pop culture. He is reknowned as a charismatic and established clothing designer and theatre costumes. His creations were influenced by Andy Warhol with a hint of historic designs and modern abstract art.

Versace was awarded as “the most innovative and creative designer in the world” by Cutty Sark Award in 1988 and received an American Fashion Oscar in 1993 by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
July 15, 1997 was the tragic day in history when He was shot dead by an insane gunman Andrew Cunanan outside his South Beach home in Miami.
Currently Donatella, Santo and Donatella’s daughter Allegra run the business. Donatella had taken the brand toa whole new level were Versace design is described as all-grown up and realises that not all ladies look like models.
